2012 People’s Choice Awards Recap

In case you missed it, the 2012 People’s Choice Awards – hosted by ‘Big Bang Theory’s’ Kaley Cuoco – aired last night, live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Some of the stars and celebs in attendance: Robert Pattinson, Emma Stone, Ellen DeGeneres, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Jason Segel, Jason Biggs, David Boreanaz, Elisha Cuthbert, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Morgan Freeman, Paul Wesley, Ashley Greene, Alyson Hannigan, Liam Hemsworth, Julianne Hough, Terrence Howard, Vanessa Hudgens, Ewan McGregor and Ian Somerhalder. Here’s what happened during the show…

Demi Lovato performed her brand new single, “Give Your Heart A Break” and was given the award for Best Pop Artist immediately following her performance.

Faith Hill also graced the stage to give a heartfelt rendition of her new single, “Come Home.”

Katy Perry and Russell Brand were no shows, but we knew that was happening already. Perry dominated the show, winning 5 awards last night. Adam Sandler gave a long yet hilarious acceptance speech where he thanks all the teachers that helped him, among those mentioned were “Mrs. Smells Like My Grandma’s Closet” and “Mr. Bald spot.” Betty White and fellow “Hot in Cleveland” co-stars took the award for Favorite Cable TV Comedy. While onstage, the audience gave her a standing ovation after Jane Leeves announced that Betty’s 90th Birthday is next week! Before receiving this award Don Cheadle ran off the stage while presenting an award to give Betty a hug!
